Introduction
It is the place Lord Buddha had spent 24 yrs of rainy season.
Shravasti  central area do not  witness either any  good medical facility or any good school. People need to go either Balrampur or Ikona for the same. Hotels are highly expensive and you can’t get proper F&B outlet/dhaba where you can buy and eat food. Neither the small food unit nor any MNC outlet like MacD, Dominoes etc exit is the location. So most of the tourist either prefers to have food from the hotel they are staying in or prepare their own food. So there is maximum opportunity here for business growth.

UP tourism Rahi Banglow :
UP Tourism banglow is centrally located and is headed by MD Islam and having a total work-force of 9, out of which 4 are govt employee and 5 are on contract. None of the staff is female. The reception is headed by Mr Haridwar Singh and he has approx 30 years of experience and passed out from IHM lucknow. He can be considered as Trainer at our training program.
Total number of room is 10.  3 rooms are AC and rest are Non- AC. The tourist bunglow is not well maintained. Most of the Rooms do not have TV facility and cooler is not effective. The light was tripping whole night and it is difficult to sleep. Common bathroom have 2 urenals, 2 wash room, 2 rest room but rest rooms are not well maintained. It creates a bad impression on guest mind that if the government based unit having such critical condition what can be expected.
The income of contract staff is very less and there is a need of training impartation among staff regarding communication, hygiene, guest handling, situation handling, cleaning procedure, First –aid etc.

E- Rickshaw , Tanga , Cycle rickshaw & Auto
There are around 4 e-rickshaws, 7 tanga, 5 cycle rickshaw and no auto in the area. The economies of these actors are middle class and having a daily income of 250-400 in off season and 500-900 in peak season. Since most of the tourist prefers to come by their separate bus, the need of local transport does not getting developed. These few local transport facility providers used to ferry the guest in local monastery at very nominal charges.
The training need to be given to improve their services, grooming, personal hygiene, remove communication barrier First-aid training etc.

Monasteries
Most of the monasteries are situated in the central region of Shravasti and is headed by a guru from that the community / country of which the monastery belong to . Apart from them, there is an average of 6 helper staff each monastery have and there staff are low paid having an average salary of 3.5 k per month. They are either less educated or illiterate except few like Mr Kripa ram in combodia temple is highly educated but working on a salary of 3.5 k per month. The lankan temple having around 20 staff for helping and Burmese temple having 17 contractual staff. Chinese temple is witnessing worst condition in all dimensions whether it is about care taking or maintenance. No fund and no society to upkeep the temple constructed by Ren Chen.
All Monasteries have rooms, providing f&b facility too. Generating lots of revenue by Selling of it but they do not pay any charges to govt.
The training need to be imparted on cleaning, personal hygiene, first –aid, communication, cooking, serving, confidence building, awareness about different govt. Plans, awareness about the importance of their city.

Shopkeepers and dhabas
All shops are kiosk type except 3-4 saree centre and the shopkeepers are have meagre income but they are continuing with same from long ago. The average daily income of local shopkeeper is 200-300 per day.
The dhabas are ill maintained and do not serve meal. They are only busy serving samosa, tea, chat etc and that too of poor quality and one can easily get food poisoned. Water is generally kept in open bucket there in no proper facility of garbage disposal.
Training need to imparted  clean India strategy, need to be motivated to use toilet as still the dhaba people are in the habit of going in open field or road side canal for washroom. Need to be awared about personal hygiene, food poisoning, quality food preparation, cleaning standard and etiquettes, grooming etc.

ASI – Shravasti
The ASI office is headed by Mr Akhilesh Tiwari and there are 32 staff in the unit out of which 9 are permanent, 18 on roll and rest are contract basis. They cover the areas like shaheth, maheth,  ora- jhar. The team consisit of many graduates and few non-graduate but most of them are lacking in proper English communication and also have limited vocabulary and few of them are not well aware about their product knowledge.
The ASI office is suffering form lack of proper power supply and required electronic product like printer or scanner etc
There is no training or awareness program ever operated for local people, neither the staff member get regular training for quality improvement. There no guide or photographer is registered with ASI unit and also they are not available . So this can be considered as a source of employment generation if the local youth is well trained and given opportunity, they will definitely get benefitted from it.
The need of training required is communication, first-aid, grooming, hygiene etc.

Tourist Temple (Thai, Saheth, Maheth, Jetwana etc)
Though it is off season, we witness around 5000 guest near these tourist points but hardly seen 100 shops or vendor at these location. Tourist were seen searching for drinking water , or something to eat at most of the points but it was not there. The working of local governing body was also not appropriate. There is no proper public water facility, no street light facility, no public bathroom on road leading to these tourist points. Gents were seen urinating near road side and the women were suffering from critical condition.
There is no proper medical facility so that immediate help can be provided to needy. The opportunity to generate income is maximum but lack entrepreneur skill /thinking is mainly responsible for backwardness of area. The cleaning of public area outside the temple was also not appreciable.
Inside the temples, the temple authority has anyhow managed the cleanliness.
