Birth and Family
Basappa Danappa Jatte was born on September 10, 1912 in Question Village of Bijapur District. Bijapur district also has a divided section of Karnataka. When they were born, there was a complete lack of basic amenities in the village. Their village was near the border of Mumbai Presidency. For this reason, the language of that language was Marathi, not Kannada language. Mr. Basappa's grandfather bought a small house and a piece of land in question village. But due to financial problems, the house and the land had to be pledged so that the family could live.
Political Life
In the Quit India Movement of 1952, Basappa represented by the Praja Council Party. He was given the rank of Secretary in the Zilla Parishad Party of the Jhamkhandi. These days, Basappa did not like that he should be addressed as a Congressman. On April 18, 1945, he joined the Jakhkhandi State Cabinet. On August 25, 1947, this was elected the Chief Minister of Jharkhandi State by the Praja Council. But when the time for reorganization of states came, the Jhakhhandi state became an integral part of the independent India.

The first general election of the Republic of India was held in 1952. In this, Basappa contested the Congress ticket from the Jhamkhandi seat and won a win with a great difference. The first person elected in the state of Bombay became the popular government and Morarji Desai was elected the first Chief Minister. Basappa received the status of the Deputy Minister. It started working with Shantilal Shah, who had the interests of health and labor. Shantilal Shah provided complete freedom to work for Basappa Jatty. He felt that he himself was a cabinet minister. On November 1, 1956, which was part of the Kannada language in Mumbai Province, it was separated and merged with Mysore. Thus, the seat of Basappa Jakhandhi elected as MLA was brought under the seat of Mysore assembly. On May 10, 1957, he was made Chairman of the Land Reform Committee of the Mysore State. He worked here unpaidly with full integrity.
Vice-President

Horo had to face embarrassing defeat, who was a joint candidate of many opposition parties. On August 31, 1974, he was administered the oath of office by President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad, who concluded at 8.30 am in Ashok Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan. During the swearing-in ceremony, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, her cabinet colleague, former vice-president s. Pathak and Besappa's wife Sangamma were also present. This was a brief 10 minute concert. Immediately after this, BD Jattha went to Rajghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's tomb. On August 31, 1974, after taking the charge of Basappa, the notification was published in the Gazette of the Government of India, whose number was S. O 561 (E) was 31 August 1974.
