Rajendra Prasad is the first President of the Indian Republic. His life is our public history. They were the idols of simplicity, service, sacrifice and patriotism. Rajendra Babu, who gave himself completely home in the freedom movement, was a very simple and serious person. They kept normal behavior from people of all classes. His autobiography is a better medium to get closer to the second phase of his Indian life as well as his inspirational life for nearly 80 years.
Dr. Prasad was born on 3 December 1884 in a small village in Bihar, Jiradei. Their ancestors settled in Ballia before the place of Amorha of the United Provinces and then later came to Zaradei of Saran (Bihar). Father Mahadev Sahai had three daughters and two sons, in which he was the youngest. Early education took place in his village Jiradei. Their tendency towards studies was from childhood. In 1896, when he was in fifth class, he was married to Rajvanshi Devi at the age of twelve. He had applied for further studies in the University of Calcutta, where he got admission and got a scholarship of 30 rupees a month. For the first time since his village, a young man had succeeded in getting admission in the Calcutta University. That was certainly a matter of pride for Rajendra Prasad and his family.
In 1902, he joined the Calcutta Presidency College. In 1915 he completed master's degree in law for which he was awarded Gold Medal. After this he also received a doctorate degree in law. After this Patna came and started advocating for which they got very wealth and name.
In Bihar, the British government had the fields of Neel. The government did not give proper salaries to its laborers. In 1917 Mahatma Gandhi came to Bihar to take an initiative to overcome this problem. At the same time Dr. Prasad met Gandhiji and his ideology was affected. In 1919, there was a wave of civil movement across India. Gandhiji appealed to boycott all schools, government offices. After that Dr. Prasad quit his unpaid job.
Rajendra Prasad became a loyal companion of Gandhi during the Champaran agitation. After Gandhiji came under influence, he renounced his old and conservative ideology and took part in the freedom movement with a new energy. In 1931, Congress launched a movement. During this period, Dr. Prasad had to go to jail several times. In 1934, he was made the president of Bombay Congress. They were made president more than once. In 1942, participated in the Quit India Movement. During this time they were arrested and closed.
Even though India gained independence on August 15, 1947, but the Constituent Assembly was formed just before it, whose President Dr. Prasad was elected. By signing the constitution, Dr. Prasad recognized it.
Prior to becoming the President of India, he had been a brilliant student, a well-known lawyer, agitator, editor, national leader, chairman of the All India Congress Committee three times, the Food and Agriculture Minister of India, and the President of the Constituent Assembly. On January 26, 1950, India got the first President in the form of Dr. Rajendra Prasad. By 1962, he remained in the top post. In 1962, after leaving his post, he went to Patna and started living his life.
In 1962, for his political and social contribution, he was awarded "Bharat Ratna", India's Best Civilian Honor.

Rajendra Babu founded Bihar University in 1921.
In 1924 he was elected as president of Patna Municipal Corporation.
In 1928, the 'World Youth Peace Council' was held in Holland, in which Rajendra Babu participated in India and gave a speech.
He participated in the Disagreement Movement in 1930. They were arrested and sent to jail. Due to bad eating habits in prison, they become asthma. At that time there was a big earthquake in Bihar. He was released from prison due to poor health. To help the earthquake victims, he established the 'Bihar Central Tilif' committee. At that time, they collected 28 lakh rupees and distributed relief in the earthquake victims.
In the year 1934 the Congress of Mumbai Yeha's Congress functioned as a chairmanship.
In 1936, Nagpur also worked on the presidency of the All India Hindi Sahitya Sammelan.
In 1942, he had to go to jail even in the 'Leave India' movement.
In 1946 an interim government was established under the leadership of Pandit Nehru. Due to Gandhiji's insistence, he accepted the post of minister of food and agriculture department.
Chairperson of the National Congress was elected in 1947. Prior to that he became president of the event committee. The proceedings of the incident committee will last for two years, eleven months and eighteen days. Draft to be reduced. It was approved on 26th September, 1949 and it was implemented on January 26, 1950. India becomes a republic state. Rajendra Babu was honored as the first president of independent India.
From 1950 to 1962, he was president of the post for twelve years. Afterwards, he spent the rest of his life in Patna's Sadakat Ashram.
Award - The highest honor of Bharat Ratna was given to him in 1962.
