Hogenakkal Falls is a fascinating waterfall in South India on the Kaveri river in the Dharmapuri district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Sometimes referred to as the Niagara Falls of India. It is known for medicinal baths and hide boat rides, projecting itself as a major tourist attraction. Carbonatite rocks in this site are considered to be the oldest of its kind in South Asia and one of the oldest in the world.
Hogenakkal is located about 750 feet above sea level amidst the Melagiri Hills. Hogenakkal, located on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border makes for a quick getaway from Bangalore.

The nearest airport is the Bangalore International Airport.(108 km). The nearest Railway Station to Hogenakkal is the Dharampuri railway Station (47 km). direct buses are always availalable to this water fall from Dharampuri and the Salem Bus Stands.
