Pratibha Devi Singh Patil (born December 19, 1934, Jalgaon, Maharashtra) is the first woman president to reach the country's highest post in the 60 year history of independent India, rising from the middle finance family. They have the distinction of becoming India's twelfth elected president. Becoming president of it has proved to be an important chapter in the context of women's power. In the democratic history of India, the day of July 21st, 2007 will be considered as significant because of this, sixty years after the country's independence, a woman got the chance to be elected as a President for the first time. On July 25, 2007, Mrs. Pratibha Patil took the oath of presidency and got the distinction of being the first woman in the country. Pratibha Patil has been associated with the Congress Party for a very long time, and when she was elected for the post of President, she was the Governor of Rajasthan.
Birth and Family
Pratibha Patil was born on December 19, 1934 in village 'Nadgaon' of 'Jalgaon'. His father's name was 'Narayan Rao Patil', who was a government lawyer by profession. At that time the country was tight in the chains of capitulation. In such a way that the country will be independent and the grandfather of independent India will become a daughter of Nadgaon village, it was simply impossible.
Student Life
Pratibha Patil's father was a public prosecutor, for this reason, there was favorable environment for daughter's education in the family. When Pratibha Patil entered Jalgaon's Basic Jetha (M.J. College) University, her personality was not like any other woman. He had reached the college due to his versatility. Mrs. Pratibha Patil received a postgraduate degree from Jalgaon, State College. Political Life
When Pratibha Patil was associated with social work, then Congress leader Anna Saheb Kelkar recognized the hidden political power in them. Anna Saheb Kelkar joined Pratibha with Congress and she became a devoted member of the party. But till then Pratibha Patil's political ambitions were zero. Then came the period of 1962, which was determined by Pradhanadha to determine the condition and direction of Pratibha Patil's life. Anna Sahab Kelkar urged Pratibha to come to active politics and contest the assembly elections. Congress ticket was received from Jalgaon's Adlabad assembly constituency. In the Jalgaon district of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, a seat was received from a seat in the assembly, which had no experience of politics. Ministerial post

Thus, in 1962 only at the age of 27, talent got established in politics. He was re-elected in the 1967 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. From 1967 to 1972, he took over as the State Minister with the important department success in public health, housing, tourism, parliamentary affairs etc. His work was also appreciated. He also won the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections in 1972. This time he was made Cabinet Minister of the state. Election for the Rajya Sabha
In 1979 the Congress Party could not get a majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Despite this, Pratibha Patil re-elected to the assembly by winning the elections. Then he played the role of opposition leader from July 1979 to February 1980. Pratibha won the fifth consecutive elections for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections of 1980. This time, from 1982 to 1985, he took charge of the responsibility of Rural Development, Social Welfare and Civil Supplies and Housing Ministries as cabinet minister with full responsibility. The vision of the Central Hall of Congress was centered on the work of talent. This is the reason that considering their qualifications, it was considered necessary to bring them to the national politics scene. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1985. In 1991, the Congress Party nominated Mrs. Pratibha Patil as its candidate for Lok Sabha from Amravati seat. This was the Congress' belief in them. After Pratibha Patil's candidature was declared, the BSP supremo and the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati, gave her assurances to support Pratibha Patil, who has given her support to the U.P.A. After the dramatic developments on June 14, 2007, the U.P.A. And the Leftists decided to name the presidential candidate finally. That name was- the then governor of Rajasthan, Mrs. Pratibha Patil Shekhawat. Abdul Kalam also formally departed from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mrs. Pratibha Patil took oath in English.
After taking oath, Mrs. Pratibha Patil, while delivering the tradition, was elected by the outgoing President A.P.J. The seat changed from Abdul Kalam.
