Pratibha Devi Singh Patil (born December 19, 1934, Jalgaon, Maharashtra) is the first woman president to reach the country's highest post in the 60 year history of independent India, rising from the middle finance family. They have the distinction of becoming India's twelfth elected president. Becoming president of it has proved to be an important chapter in the context of women's power. In the democratic history of India, the day of July 21st, 2007 will be considered as significant because of this, sixty years after the country's independence, a woman got the chance to be elected as a President for the first time. On July 25, 2007, Mrs. Pratibha Patil took the oath of presidency and got the distinction of being the first woman in the country. Pratibha Patil has been associated with the Congress Party for a very long time, and when she was elected for the post of President, she was the Governor of Rajasthan.
Birth and Family
Pratibha Patil was born on December 19, 1934 in village 'Nadgaon' of 'Jalgaon'. His father's name was 'Narayan Rao Patil', who was a government lawyer by profession. At that time the country was tight in the chains of capitulation. In such a way that the country will be independent and the grandfather of independent India will become a daughter of Nadgaon village, it was simply impossible.

Student Life
Pratibha Patil's father was a public prosecutor, for this reason, there was favorable environment for daughter's education in the family. Pratibha Patil started the primary education from the primary school girl of Nagarpalika. Mrs. Pratibha Patil has studied in class four upto the same school. Then he enrolled in class 5 in Jalgaon's new English school. At present, that school is called 'R.R. Is known as 'school'. While passing the school level examination, Pratibha Patil also developed her personality while engaging in other activities. Pratibha Patil's special feeling emerged in the speech, debate and sports activities. He was not indulged in mere academic books, but his attention towards all facets of personality. Pratibha Patil also had a strong attachment to classical music. He was also an accomplished player of table tennis.

Skilled Player
When Pratibha Patil entered Jalgaon's Basic Jetha (M.J. College) University, her personality was not like any other woman. He had reached the college due to his versatility. He represented college and university in table tennis. He also received many awards as a skilled player. M.A. After doing so, Pratibha Patil decided to pursue her studies by choosing her career. Mrs. Pratibha Patil received a postgraduate degree from Jalgaon, State College. It is also worth mentioning that Pratibha Patil, the icon of simplicity, was also fortunate to become a beauty queen of the college. After this he got the degree of law from Law College, Mumbai.
Political Life
When Pratibha Patil was associated with social work, then Congress leader Anna Saheb Kelkar recognized the hidden political power in them. Anna Saheb Kelkar joined Pratibha with Congress and she became a devoted member of the party. But till then Pratibha Patil's political ambitions were zero. Then came the period of 1962, which was determined by Pradhanadha to determine the condition and direction of Pratibha Patil's life. Anna Sahab Kelkar urged Pratibha to come to active politics and contest the assembly elections. Congress ticket was received from Jalgaon's Adlabad assembly constituency. In the Jalgaon district of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, a seat was received from a seat in the assembly, which had no experience of politics. Simplicity of talent and untested image helped complete the election of the voters of Adlabad. Pratibha also had full power in the election campaign. People were coming to their meetings in huge numbers and were influenced by the views of the Congress candidate.

Ministerial post
Then Pratibha crossed the stamp of election with great difference. A non-political woman entered politics through a whim of success. Thus, in 1962 only at the age of 27, talent got established in politics. He was re-elected in the 1967 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. From 1967 to 1972, he took over as the State Minister with the important department success in public health, housing, tourism, parliamentary affairs etc. His work was also appreciated. The talent of being associated with different departments got this additional benefit that they had full practical knowledge of the administrative administration. He also won the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections in 1972. This time he was made Cabinet Minister of the state. He successfully carried out the responsibility of tourism, social welfare and housing departments.

Election for the Rajya Sabha
In 1979 the Congress Party could not get a majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Despite this, Pratibha Patil re-elected to the assembly by winning the elections. Then he played the role of opposition leader from July 1979 to February 1980. Pratibha won the fifth consecutive elections for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections of 1980. This time, from 1982 to 1985, he took charge of the responsibility of Rural Development, Social Welfare and Civil Supplies and Housing Ministries as cabinet minister with full responsibility. The vision of the Central Hall of Congress was centered on the work of talent. This is the reason that considering their qualifications, it was considered necessary to bring them to the national politics scene. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1985. In 1986, Pratibha was given the responsibility of the post of Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha for two years. He also gave this new responsibility to the best of his ability. He sued the dignity of the post of office for the responsibility of the House. Pratibha Patil lived in the Rajya Sabha till her term ended in 1990. After that he started to solve social problems by going to his home area Jalgaon.

Governor's office
In 1991, the Congress Party nominated Mrs. Pratibha Patil as its candidate for Lok Sabha from Amravati seat. This was the Congress' belief in them. Prior to this, he had never received a ticket from the Lok Sabha. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Amravati seat. Pratibha Patinay had given priceless years of her life for the Congress party. Given his commitment to the society and the Congress party, he was given a completely new responsibility in 2004. This time, he was not a public representative, but he was elected to the post of governor of Rajasthan. At that time in Rajasthan there was the Bharatiya Janata Party government and there was a lady Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia.
Presidential Post
Several names were discussed for President's post, but in the end, there were two names, which were named U.P.A. And to be finalized by the Left Front. Both names were women candidates- one, Gandhian ideology, Nirmala Deshpande and second, the then Governor of Rajasthan, Smt. Pratibha Patil. After the consent of both the parties, after the name of Mrs. Pratibha Patil, there was no waiting for the opinion of the opposition. After Pratibha Patil's candidature was declared, the BSP supremo and the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati, gave her assurances to support Pratibha Patil, who has given her support to the U.P.A. And there was a message of relief for the leftists. Similarly Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray in Maharashtra also expressed his desire to make Maharashtra the path to becoming president. It was decided to go to Pratibha Patil's Rashtrapati Bhavan.

After the dramatic developments on June 14, 2007, the U.P.A. And the Leftists decided to name the presidential candidate finally. That name was- the then governor of Rajasthan, Mrs. Pratibha Patil Shekhawat. Talking to the phone at Mount Abu from Mrs. Pratibha Patil, she was informed that she should be made a candidate for the presidential post. Pratibha Patil gave her approval after spending some time in surprise. Then the media was given the candidate's candidature for the presidential post. Thus, the talks and uncertainties starting from one month were stopped. The newly elected president, Mrs. Pratibha Patil, formally took charge of the country's highest constitutional post on Wednesday, 25 July, 2007. At 2.30 in the afternoon, the Chief Justice of the Parliament, K.G. Balakrishnan administered oath of office and secrecy. Along with this, AP J. Abdul Kalam also formally departed from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mrs. Pratibha Patil took oath in English.

After taking oath, Mrs. Pratibha Patil, while delivering the tradition, was elected by the outgoing President A.P.J. The seat changed from Abdul Kalam. Then, in his honor, the sound of 21 guns emerged out of Parliament. This program lasted 20 minutes. The function was attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Acting President of Rajya Sabha R. Rahman Khan, Former Vice President Bhairingh Shekhawat, U.P.A. In 1988-1990, Rajiv Gandhi nominated Pratibha Patil as head of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

Pratibha Patil also worked as the director of the National Federation of Urban Cooperative Bank of Credit Society. He was also the executive member of the National Cooperative Union of India.

Mrs. Pratibha Patil was elected from the Amravati seat on the ticket of Congress (I) in the tenth Lok Sabha election. After completing his term, he took up active politics.

After eight years of active politics, Pratibha Patil was made the new governor of Rajasthan in 2004.

Being a politician on behalf of Maharashtra, she was the second in the form of a woman who took the post of governor, the second was the second. His former Basant Dada Patil achieved this feat.
