Ramnath Kovind is an Indian politician who was elected the 14th President of India on July 20, 2017. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court J.S. Khehar administered the oath of office of President of India on July 25, 2017. He is a Rajya Sabha member and Governor of Bihar State.

Life Introduction
Ramnath Kovind was born in a small village in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district (present day Kanpur Dehh District), a tehsil of Darrapur, Kanpur Dehat. Kovind belongs to the Kori (Koli) caste, which falls under the Scheduled Castes in Uttar Pradesh. After getting the degree of advocacy, he started advocacy in the Delhi High Court. He was the Central Government Counsel in the Delhi High Court from 1977 to 1979. On August 8, 2015, he was appointed as Governor of Bihar. He also passed the Union Public Service Commission examination in the third attempt.

In 1991, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the year 1994, the state of Uttar Pradesh was elected to the Rajya Sabha. In the year 2000, again the state of Uttar Pradesh was elected to the Rajya Sabha. Thus Konvind was a member of the Rajya Sabha for 12 consecutive years. He was also the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
BJP member
In 1991, he joined BJP. In 1998 and 2002, he was the president of the BJP's Dalit Front and was also the President of All India Koli Samaj. He has served the country several times even while being the national spokesperson of the party. He donated his ancestral house to Darampur to the RSS. Ghatampur and Bhoganipur (both belong to the state of Uttar Pradesh), they stood in the election, taking tickets from the BJP from both the constituencies, but they had to face defeat in both the elections.

He was appointed on April 1, 1994, and after this he was also made the Rajya Sabha MP of the state of Uttar Pradesh. He served for two consecutive terms until March 2006 while staying for this position. As a member of Parliament, he has served in the Parliamentary Committee of Social Welfare, Home Ministry, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Social Justice and Empowerment, Justice and Law etc.

He has been working for several years even though he is the Chairman of the House Committee of the Rajya Sabha. M.P. in its Parliamentary Period While living, he paid more attention to the education system of rural areas and the construction of schools in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. While being a member of Parliament, he has also traveled to Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Pakistan, Switzerland, Germany, United State, United Kingdom and France.
Governer
On August 8, 2015, the Prime Minister of India appointed him as the governor of Bihar. On August 16, 2015, he was declared Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. With oath taking, Kovind had become the 36th Governor of Bihar. Swearing method was organized in Raj Bhavan of Patna.

As governor, he made many commendable and impressive changes. First of all, he reformed the state's education system smoothly and recruited new teachers in the university and schools. At the same time they also misused the funds being sent by the government for education.

After presenting the claim for the President of India, he resigned as the governor of Bihar and on 20th June, 2017, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee approved his resignation.
