Vishwanath Pratap Singh (born - 25 June, 1931, Uttar Pradesh; death - 27 November 2008, Delhi). Vishwanath Pratap Singh was the eighth prime minister of India Due to the collapse of the Rajiv Gandhi government, Vishwanath Pratap Singh, who became the Prime Minister, received this post on 2 December 1989 through the general election. Mr. VP Singhji was not only very honest, but he had great compassion in the hearts of the underprivileged and deprived communities.
Birth and Family
Vishwanath Pratap Singh was born on 25 June 1931 in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh. He was the son of Raja Bahadur Rai Gopal Singh. His marriage was concluded on 25th June 1955 with Sita Kumari on his birthday. He received two sons and two gems. He established Gopal Intermediate College in Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh).

Vishwanath Pratap Singh studied at Allahabad and Poona University. He was president of Uday Pratap College, Varanasi's Student Union in 1947-1948. Vishwanath Pratap Singh was also Vice President of Allahabad University Student Union. In 1957, he played an active role in the Bhoodan movement. Singh donated his land to charity There was a family dispute for this, which also went to the court. He was also a member of the All India Council of the Executive Council of Allahabad.
Political Life
Vishwanath Pratap Singh had become interested in politics in his student life. He was from a prosperous family, for this reason he got success in youth politics. Their relationship has been with the Indian Congress Party. He reached the Uttar Pradesh assembly in 1969-1971. He also took over the charge of Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh. His Chief Minister's tenure remained from June 9, 1980 to June 28, 1982. After that, he became the Union Commerce Minister on January 29, 1983. Vishwanath Pratap Singh was also a member of the Rajya Sabha. On December 31, 1984, he became the Finance Minister of India. In the scenario of Indian politics, Vishwanath Pratap Singh was the finance minister when he was confronted with Rajiv Gandhi. Vishwanath Pratap Singh had information that many Indians have deposited huge amounts in foreign banks. VP Singh, ie Vishwanath Pratap Singh, appointed the Fairfax, a spy agency in the US so that such Indians can be traced. Meanwhile, on 16th April 1987, Sweden broadcast the news that 410 guns of Bofors Company of India were a deal, in which 60 crore was given as commission. When this news reached the Indian media, he started to make it a headgear every day. The opposition used to use this 'breaking news' as well. He conveyed this message to the public that Rajiv Gandhi's government was running away from the investigation in the Rs.60 crore brokerage. The Indian court also gave clean chit to Rajiv Gandhi. In the headlines of the Bofors scandal, elections of 1989 came also. V. P. Singh and the opposition presented this as an electoral issue. Although the primary investigation proved that no allegation was made by the auditor general against Rajiv Gandhi, however, the auditor general had certainly brought the credibility of the guns into doubt. It became clear between the Indian public that if the Bofors guns were not relational then the transaction would have been brokered. In such a situation, the target was to become Rajiv Gandhi and his government. Here VP Singh, after being expelled by Congress in 1987, decided to play the role of Vibhishan. But this Vibhishan wanted Rama's defeat instead of Ravan. V. P. Singh started going into the middle of the public and started propagating that corruption at the top level in the Congress government is rife. For this reason the officer and the bureaucracy have become corrupt. The high level of corruption claims surprised all sections of India. VP Singh's words sounded like the truth of truthful Harishchandra.
V. P. Singh, after declaration of election date, claimed in the public meetings that Bofors has deposited the amount of brokered brokerage in the foreign bank named Lotus, and after completing his tenure he will reveal the whole episode. In the Congress, the person who was sponsoring the Ministry of Finance and Defense, was accusing it, for this reason the proletariat assumes that the claims of VP Singh will certainly be the truth. Now there is no need to say that VP Singh had to reach the power of propaganda against Rajiv Gandhi for the purpose. In this election, truth and sincerity were sacrificed and falsehood made people miserable. It is also the psychology that if one lies in your ears repeatedly, then one day you take him to be true. The same thing happened in the case of the Bofors deal. The Indian public believed it to be true. Thus, the image of VP Singh in this election became a politician whose integrity and duty could not be ascertained of loyalty. The youth of Uttar Pradesh considered him as their hero. V. P. Singh lived with the students' trolley. He used to be with the students on the election campaign on motorcycles. He avoided the car ride as much as possible to display himself as an ordinary person. As a result, its meaningful effect was achieved. On the one hand, V. P. Singh created the image of his Satyarthi Harishchandra between the people and on the other hand he started the task of breaking the Congress. VP Singh started contacting those who were dissatisfied with Rajiv Gandhi. He wanted to dissociate from dissatisfied Congress Rajiv Gandhi and Congress Party. His first name in this campaign was Arif Muhammad. Arif Muhammad was a person of free and progressive ideas. For this reason, he wanted that Islamic virtues should be eliminated. Arif Muhammad and Rajiv Gandhi were very close to each other, but an incident created a deep gap between them. Actually, after the divorce of Shahbano by her husband in Hyderabad, the matter reached the court. The court considered the Muslim woman Shah Bano to be eligible for living allowance. But Muslim fundamentalists wanted to decide on the basis of 'Muslim Personal Law'. For this reason, the dispute was very difficult to catch. In such a situation, Rajiv Gandhi told Arif Muhammad that he should run a strong campaign to convince the people that Muslims should adopt a new law and should not rely on 'Muslim personal law'.
V. P. Singh along with Vidyacharan Shukla, Ramdhan and Satpal Malik and other dissident Congressmen formed their separate morcha on October 2, 1987. The Bharatiya Janata Party was also included in this front. The Leftists also announced support for the front. Thus, a seven-party front was formed on 6 August 1988 and the National Front was formally formed on October 11, 1988.
Prime Minister's Post
The Lok Sabha election of 1989 was completed. The Congress suffered heavy losses. He got only 197 seats. Vishwanath Pratap Singh's National Front got 146 seats. The BJP and the Leftists intend to support the national front. Then the BJP had 86 MPs and 52 MPs near the Left. In this way the National Front got support of 248 members. VP Singh was telling himself as the prime ministerial candidate. He felt that the defeat of Rajiv Gandhi and Congress was possible only because of him. But Chandrashekhar and Devi Lal also joined the race for the prime minister's post. It was thus decided that VP Singh will be crowned as the Prime Minister and Chaudhary Devi Lal will be made Deputy Prime Minister. As soon as he became the Prime Minister, he ran towards the Golden Temple to keep the heels on the wounds of Sikhs.
Vishwanath Pratap Singh's Historical Decision
Personally, Vishwanath Pratap Singh was of a very pure nature and his image as Prime Minister was of a strong and socially visionary person. Following the recommendations of the Mandal Commission, he stamped the stake in the power of the deprived communities in the country.
Death
At the age of 77, on November 27, 2008, VP Singh died in Apollo Hospital of Delhi.
